Chapter 2 Vocabulary

  1. Meander - To move aimlessly or without a fixed course; to wander.
  2. Conundrum - A confusing and difficult problem or question; a riddle.
  3. Ambivalence - The state of having mixed feelings or contradictory ideas about something or someone.
  4. Lethargy - A lack of energy and enthusiasm; sluggishness.
  5. Ascetic - Characterized by severe self-discipline and avoidance of all forms of indulgence, typically for religious reasons.
  6. Derelict - In a very poor condition due to disuse and neglect; a social misfit or outcast.
  7. Ineffable - Too great or extreme to be expressed in words; indescribable.
  8. Vagrant - A person who wanders from place to place without a permanent home or job; a homeless person.

  10. Introspection - The examination of one’s own thoughts and feelings; self-reflection.
