Review - Definitions:

  • Anachronistic: Belonging to a period other than that in which it exists; outdated or out of place in time.
  • Hegira: A journey to escape a dangerous or undesirable situation; often used to refer specifically to Muhammad's migration from Mecca to Medina.
  • Snafu: An acronym for "Situation Normal: All Fouled Up," describing a chaotic or problematic situation, often used in a military context.
  • Unabated: Continuing at full strength or intensity; not diminishing.
  • Prodigious: Remarkably or impressively great in extent, size, or degree; extraordinary.
  • Arroyos: Dry or seasonal watercourses or ravines that can carry water during heavy rains, often found in arid regions.
  • Destitute: Lacking the basic necessities of life; extremely poor.
  • Sedentary: Involving little physical activity; characterized by a lack of movement.
  • Fulminate: To express vehement protest or to explode with a loud noise; can also refer to issuing a formal reprimand.
  • Bull: In the context of the book, it refers to the security presence at a rail yard, often used to denote authority figures or enforcers.
  • Monotonous: Dull, repetitive, and lacking in variety; boring due to sameness.

Please send your EA and or student to the office with any absences (post it note)  NOTE: Please send ALL class notes to me post class completion via email so that I am aware of how much was completed of the lesson below.
